Large flakes of graphene oxide are the essential ingredient in a new recipe for robust carbon fiber created at Rice. James Tour, the T.T. and W.F. Chao Chair in Chemistry and professor of mechanical engineering and materials science and of computer science, and Rice graduate student Changsheng Xiang are quoted.
