when rocks break down into smaller pieces
from ocean beds to the mountain tops
weathering is the breakdown of rock!
Two types of weathering exist
mechanical and chemical
that is why the rock cycle can’t be stopped
‘cos weathering is the breakdown of rock!

Mechanical weathering
is the breakdown of rock by physical means
Ice, wind, water, and gravity,
strike and push ‘til the rock breaks free
Wind and water through abrasion
Ice breaks rock through expansion
Plants and animals dig into soil
to cause erosion
It’s the breakdown of rock!
Chemical weathering is when
water, air, or acid rain
split free tiny molecules
dissolving the rock away little by little
It’s the breakdown of rock!
Yeah weathering is the breakdown of rock!
