Graphene foam makes epoxy compound lighter and tougher
Rice scientists developed an advanced epoxy for electronic applications using “ultrastiff” graphene foam that is substantially tougher than pure epoxy and far more conductive than other epoxy composites. James Tour, the T.T. and W.F. Chao Chair in Chemistry and a professor of computer science and of materials science and nanoengineering, is quoted. Rice visiting student Xiao Han and graduate student Tuo Wang are mentioned.
